Paxman: lol i was wondering how youve been playing for several months before ML started hehe! ok lets start with tmb, please tell us about your first experiences on that game
The_Wolf: My brother told me to check it out so I logged on, I thought was really stupid and told him so and he quit playing, but I found myself sitting up bored half the night so i would log on and loved just killing the NOOBs as they signed on for the round The_Wolf: so I continued to play for a bit, I moved and my internet sucked so I didnt play for almost a year, I never got along well with too many people over there The_Wolf: so i preferred just random acts of violence, just to piss people off The_Wolf: Only fams I remember staying in for more than a few rounds were Moneymaking Mafia with Joedog and Wolfpack with Fingers
Paxman: i see so it was just a bit of fun killing when you logged on rather than anything structured at the start?
The_Wolf: all along I never understood the structure, if anything i liked to hit people and cause family friction and get booted, but was always a small time player - a looter for want of a better word - occasionally i still log on over there, kill randomly and then log off
Paxman: oh ok, did you learn any valuable lessons during this 'free-lancing' period which you still make use of today?
The_Wolf: yes i learned 2 things mostly The_Wolf: 1. hatemail is better than fanmail The_Wolf: 2. the only way to succeed in tmb is to suck on big supp d*** like cyp or pops or one of them The_Wolf: and near the end of my playing days I met Mr Blonde and having already the name The_Wolf made a good fit with Tarantino
Paxman: oh i see, so up until you met Mr Blonde, your main aim was just to make yourself a pain in the ass to as many people as possible?
The_Wolf: yes, not nearly as obnoxious as some of the others as Im not much a talker, I just liked annoying people The_Wolf: and it wasnt until we moved Tarantino to Mobsterlord any of that changed, although we still like pissing people
Paxman: i see, would you say one of your goals was to try and mess up the established order where the big boys like cyp and pops always dominate? The_Wolf: Nah - never thought that much about it while playing tmb, it was just a way to pass some time in the evenings for me The_Wolf: really it was a stepping stone to understand the format of these games
Paxman: hehe ok, well tell us about your meeting with Blonde and joining his fam on tmb
The_Wolf: Well I was hanging around Cleveland being a general pain, I cant remember which fam at the moment The_Wolf: and I came across Blonde and noticed the Tarantino name so I joined him, because my character, The_Wolf is from pulp fiction, it was a nick name i got at work The_Wolf: a customer called me The_Wolf cause I would clean his mess like Harvey Keittel did for Samuel Jackson and John Travolta The_Wolf: so it seemed a good fit, they were all Tarantino characters, call it a sign from God - we moved to ML about 3 rounds later
Paxman: lol a match made in heaven! hehe ok well tell us about your early days on ML. Did you just continue where you left of on tmb or did you adapt your style for this game?
The_Wolf: well at first I hated the layout and was a bit resistent to change once again, but we were settled into Tarallo at that time so I just sat back and learned the game a bit. Collected for the first time that seemed a bit stupid, but it helped me get in final fams which was good for creds The_Wolf: after maybe 5 rounds or so, Blonde suggested we branch off on our own The_Wolf: that is when we had to start a hybrid model

The_Wolf: between collecting and killing...choosing our paths wisely as Fugazi would say
Paxman: lol Mr Blonde and Mr_penis have told us about some of the special characteristics of Tarantino. Would you like to add anything to their comments about the family's defining characteristics? The_Wolf: we are just a pain in the ass The_Wolf: we wont always win our fights, but our opponent will not win either
Paxman: oh so fighting just for the sake of it? or is your ultimate goal about rankings? The_Wolf: well that has also evolved quite a bit, we still will fight for no good reason, but we also try to mind our ranks - it started with a goal to win the jackpot. Blonde, Fug, and I planned a way to do it and then we did it. Since then the bar has been raised a bit and ranks is definitely a more defined role. Even in war we have found ways to pull out a fam rank. It is hard being an Independent fam competing with the unions
Paxman: oh i see, but i believe tarantino has expanded now too, do you consider yourselves to be a "union" now?
The_Wolf: Unfortunately, Blonde decided to semi-retire - it was always his goal to have just one fam The_Wolf: but since he has been off we have expanded into multi fams including partnering with some of the other fams like Maharlika and Fight Club The_Wolf: so yes, at our low point we had 6 members...although we were fierce members - i think i counted about 80 last night
Paxman: wow I think that sure does qualify as a union now lol. Are you happy with the decision to expand or would you have preferred to keep i the way Blonde originally wanted with just the one fam?
The_Wolf: Is a tough call, ideally we would have one fam only and that would be an excellent family. However, as we attracted attention our ranks began to grow. I remember one round shortly before our expansion I had to tell 2 new members we didn't want them because we didn't have room. That is also unfair because everyone should be in the family they want to be in, and also you never know where you might find future support. I suppose all fams can tell you about the player they didnt recruit and later that bit them in the ass The_Wolf: so we just have to accept it for what it is and let the gameplay dictate our fam, we will lose members due to ranking soon I am sure as it is hard to rank them all and much different then our core philosophy, but we are learning as we go
Paxman: oh i see so basically see how it goes :) Well tell us about the round you managed to pull off the JP win, Penis and Blonde have mentioned it being a very proud moment for Tarantino..
The_Wolf: It was a very proud moment, we had set a goal many rounds before to do it - so when we did it surprised everyone and I think it helped change the game for the better. We gave the smaller players hope. We will do it again real soon :)
Paxman: hehe I see you still have the same mentality of small guys Vs big guys which you mentioned in connection to tmb.. The_Wolf: It was also a very sad moment in our history though, after that round many of our old timers retired or disappeared The_Wolf: yes we are definitely the small guys...although as the fam grows we now have more support. For a long time we were free or only 1 supporterThe_Wolf: the goal is now to beat the big guys every once in a while
Paxman: oh did the old timers retire after that round because it was 'job done' for them? The_Wolf: I think so, we still have a few - but real life catches all of us. After the win we lost direction for a while and I think many just were ready to move on at that time. They all pop in here and there on occasion, even Fugazi is hanging with us this round
Paxman: oh i see, do you ever miss those early days of just a small elite core, or do you enjoy more the regular success you have now?
The_Wolf: Sometimes I like the anonymous days, but I must admit I enjoy the present as well. Growing our small fam against the odds has been a constant challenge, sometimes it gets rough like when you feel you are putting forth too much effort and others are not, but for the most part it is nice to have some name recognition. Now when I tell someone I will 00 them, I watch them dump their cash off...cause they know its coming
Paxman: lol do you threaten players quite often then?
The_Wolf: no i seldom threaten, more i tip my hand The_Wolf: has always been a flaw that pisses the hell out of my fam, i let them know we are coming usually The_Wolf: it is kind of funny, just the other day Penis and I moved to another city and the main player in that city buried the cash as soon as they saw us just in the city The_Wolf: so that is more the kind of threat we use now The_Wolf: one more note on that subject The_Wolf: a few rounds ago we started offering banker protection....pay us 150B 2 days before eor and we will not loot your bank, otherwise all banks are always targets

The_Wolf: we dont back down, but we try and play smart and wise. yes we will concede a battle to win a war. we could've warred them this round as the stage was set and players on both sides are wanting it, but we try and fight on our terms when at all possible
Paxman: now that Mr Blonde has semi-retired, is it you who has the final say at Tarantino on these matters?
The_Wolf: hmm...is a tough question to answer, i prefer to be a soldier of the Tarantino army, but when he stepped down he handed me the position of Don. However, I try to never abuse that power and the family is run by many of us with all input considered before making decisions. Mr Penis runs the mini rounds these days and his input is always valuable to me. The rest of the family in true Tarantino fashion kind of do their own thing and we support them whether it be for the good or the bad. I only remember booting 2 people from our family in all the time we have played.

The_Wolf: well we had one, was named nikki six , he plays under a diff name now, col leprachaun maybe, he was the only person ever to ask for cash back once he found he did not make ranking fam, i forgave him for that but he continued to run his mouth so we booted him but if i remember didnt 00 him The_Wolf: he other was seventh element, i just read luca's interview and he alluded to some of the things there. He made himself our banker and he talked way too much, so we actually hit him while he was still in fam and returned the rest of our cash and went on his merry way The_Wolf: both players are ok players, they just didnt fit our system.
Paxman: oh i see you like to give players as much chance as possible to fit into tarantino. Is this because you are eager to expand or you just like to give the 'small' guy a chance too?
The_Wolf: It is not an expansion issue, as I said we would be just as happy being one small fam again, it is about providing an alternate. lets face it this is a mob game, not my little pony. People do not all want to sit and collect for 10 days. Collecting sucks, we do it too some rounds because it is a nesc evil, but we also offer protection to small players just looking to have fun. Not too many cause trouble we cannot handle, and after dealing with certain members of my own fam for many rounds we have come to enjoy it.
Paxman: ok, i ask this question because your name has been mentioned quite a few times in the 'person you would most like to join your fam' question. Have you ever considered joining another fam?
The_Wolf: well i am flattered anyone would think of me that way, as without my fam I am not much - As mentioned when I started playing I played with Mob for a few rounds. I went to Darkside for most of one round once and in minis have played for many different fams at time. maybe 5 or 6 rounds ago I was likely to join as I was getting ready to leave Tarantino out of frustration so I went and started a new fam for 1 round, we did ok with our army of 5..lol...but now i have the responsibility of the fam on my shoulders and i cannot abandon them. I love them all dearly and they all work so hard. The_Wolf: Plus I have a special relationship with mr P these days, not in a gay way, but we are polar opposites and both have trouble succeeding without the rational or irrational input of the other The_Wolf: and again most of the fam that has stuck by in the lean times, i could not betray that way

Nothing is ever permanent, just earlier this round I watched YohBoo max shawn, from your own interviews you would conclude that is impossible. So I am sure we will put it all behind us at some point. I respect all Mob members and our last war cost them over 1 Mil creds that Im sure they wish they had back.
